Moment by Moment, the Art and Practice of Mindfulness by Jerry Braza, Ph.D.

Patty E. Fleener:  This book is not new and came out in 1997. However it is new to me. This book is being used in my dialectical behavior therapy class where we practice mindfulness. The book is excellent and has helped me in my personal life tremendously. Highly recommended!

Reader:  "Mindfulness has given me the tools to practice "meditation in action." In other words, how to take the awareness achieved during meditation and apply it to my every day life. Dr. Braza's book, "Moment by Moment," is a wonderful introduction for anyone interested in finding out about mindfulness, as well as a daily companion for those already practicing it. I think the most important ingredients of this book are in the practical, concrete suggestions on how to practice mindfulness during the many activities of the day. It is very easy to get "lost" in our busy world, but by learning to become aware of our breath, we are able to be more conscious of the present moment. Dr. Braza's book offer's us the opportunity to increase this moment by moment awareness."

NEW BOOK!!  Get Me Out of Here: My Recovery from Borderline Personality Disorder
by Rachel Reiland

Reader:  "Rachel Reiland's deep, unflinching account of her psychotherapeutic journey from borderline personality disorder and anorexia to the wholeness that lay ahead is an absolute must-read for those with BPD and their loved ones.

... Reiland's first person observations of healing BPD from the inside out give amazing insight into the fundamental developmental rift that creates "borderline behavior" -- an unmistakable inner rift that those with BPD will resonate strongly with as they read Rachel's book.

As well written as it is honest, this book stands alone in the body of BPD literature in its earnest and encouraging presentation of recovery from Borderline Personality Disorder and the recovery process.

While most may not be able to afford the therapy that Rachel was privileged enough to undergo (three sessions per week with her psychiatrist for the first two years or so), the insights gained into the illness and the healing process will undoubtedly benefit those with BPD who are ready to recover."

NEW BOOK!!  Surviving a Borderline Parent:  How to Heal Your Childhood Wounds & Build Trust, Boundaries, and Self-Esteem
Reader:  "I gave up on highlighting the pertinent passages in this book - every word of it applied perfectly to my relationship with my mother. This book gives you the validation you probably never had, and gives solid, practical ways to overcome the effects of growing up with a BPD parent. The examples sited in the book could have been lifted from my journal. It was tremendously healing and empowering to finally learn that the behavior I endured as a child is actually part of a mental illness, and that I/we are not alone anymore. I cannot express effectively how much peace this book brought to me. You will not be disappointed."
